Jason Chatwin

Under 14 Head Coach

In 1986 I started my Basketball journey at the age of 15 in school as many people do.  I progressed very quickly and moved into the under 17s & u19’s national league teams which was formally known as Birmingham Bullets where here I was given the opportunity to play up in the men’s team in division 1.

As I progressed I moved onto the international England team where I competed with under 17’s and under 19’s playing in the four nations tournament where I gained the MVP we then moved onto the European qualifiers in Italy and France.

1988 led me to attend one year in the American high school system, where I was picked out by the college scouts and was offered a 4 year full scholarship through an American college in Oregon.  I picked Oregon Tech college based on the education and coaching staff , as the Oregon coach  had a winning mentality and fantastic basketball program. From here I gained a wealth of experience and a desire to win.

In 1994 I returned to Birmingham to play in the Budweiser league, the now BBL league, before moving to Coventry for a year.  In 1996 I came to Doncaster and played for Doncaster Panthers for several years.

20 years later I’m now back coaching for Doncaster Eagles and giving back to the sport I love and sharing all the knowledge I have gathered over the years.

Mark Baldwin

Under 18s Head Coach

In the 90s, I began my basketball journey at Don Valley HS, playing for the school team.  Upon joining the Royal Navy in '96, my passion for the sport persisted, leading me to represent the Royal Navy U23s and compete in various military tournaments, including consecutive inter-services championships.

After leaving the Navy to focus on parenting, my involvement in basketball took a brief hiatus.  However, when my sons enrolled at Town Fields Primary and were introduced to the sport by Bob Martin, my coaching journey commenced. Volunteering at Danum Eagles Basketball Club on Saturday mornings, where my sons started with Mini Eagles and progressed to National League basketball, marked the beginning of my coaching tenure.

Over the past 14 years, I've had the privilege of coaching numerous teams and aspire to continue as long as I'm able.

Zach Millington

Under 16 Regional Head Coach

My life in basketball began in primary school, from the first day I was hooked, I was lucky enough to be coached by ex pro Greg Modzelewski from a young age who instilled alot of great habits and mentalities in me that I've carried through with me today. I first realised I was good in a schools playoffs tournament that Greg and the Doncaster Panthers organised where I captained our team to victory and led the whole tournament in scoring winning MVP.

Through my secondary school years I spent time with the Danum Eagles and the Hatfield Flyers, progressing on to county and playing in 3 different age groups simultaneously. After school I joined coach Marc Steutel and Fab Flournoy at Tynemet Titans/Newcastle Eagles under 18s on the pathway to Durham University but unfortanently suffered a couple of consecutive bad injuries before we really got started and circumstances meant I stopped playing basketball all together. Eventually suffering a career ending injury.

Basketball is not a choice for me it's a way of life, and as my son's have developed a passion for it, that encouraged me in the first instance to want to coach and really get back into the game I love. I am thrilled and honoured to have become a part of the Eagles family, 20 years after I was being coached by the very same team. I look forward to developing my own coaching skills as I am surrounded by outstanding coaches who have given their time to help me on my own coaching journey.

Most of all i want to help all of our players flourish and succeed in our basketball family for many years to come.
